Just when we thought Land Rover had reached peak performance with the V8 Defender, they’ve taken things up another level with the Defender OCTA - the most powerful, high-tech, and hardcore Defender to date. If you thought the 5.0L supercharged V8 was wild, wait until you hear what they’ve done now.

What’s Under the Hood?

The Defender OCTA ditches the 5.0L V8 in favor of a 4.4L twin-turbo V8 from BMW, the same engine found in the M5 CS. This means more power, more torque, and even faster acceleration. The numbers?

  • 467kW and 750Nm of torque (with 800Nm in launch mode)

  • 0–100 km/h in just 4.0 seconds

To keep all that power in check, Land Rover has also completely overhauled the suspension, introducing a cutting-edge 6D hydraulic and kinetic system that eliminates the need for roll bars while providing exceptional control over body movements. This system helps the Defender stay planted on the road while allowing for maximum articulation off-road.

Built for Performance, On and Off-Road

Land Rover made sure that despite its supercar-like acceleration, the Defender OCTA still delivers where it matters most—off-road capability.

  • Increased track width for better stability

  • 33-inch all-terrain tires for better grip

  • Ground clearance boosted to 323mm

  • 3.5-tonne towing capacity and a full low-range transfer case

That means whether you're hitting high speeds on the highway or crawling through rough terrain, the OCTA is ready to handle it all.

Luxury with a Tough Edge

Inside, the OCTA gets serious upgrades, including adjustable sport seats, a high-tech sound system, and a redesigned interior that blends luxury with rugged durability. First Edition models even get chopped carbon fiber finishes and a unique copper and grey exterior design.

On the outside, expect flared arches, a more aggressive grille for extra airflow, and a higher, wider stance that sets it apart from other Defenders.

How Much Does It Cost?

If you thought the Defender 110 V8 was pricey at $200K, the Defender OCTA starts at $291,542, with the limited-run First Edition models reaching $317,592. That puts it squarely in competition with the Mercedes-AMG G63 and Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT in the ultra-high-performance off-road SUV category.

The TuffAnt Take

At TuffAnt, we love seeing Land Rover push the limits of what the Defender can do. The OCTA’s upgraded powertrain, cutting-edge suspension, and bold styling make it a serious off-road weapon. But as always, your Defender is only as capable as the gear it’s running.

For those looking to push their Defender even further, TuffAnt offers high-performance alloy wheels designed to take on anything—from high-speed highway driving to extreme off-road adventures.
